NY Times Repositioning

The landmark 86-acre property-previously owned and operated by NY Times Co. included a 1,248,000sf printing facility, a warehouse, and a former golf course located at the crossroads of major roadways.

Our firm was contracted to convert the printing facility into a 750,000sf speculative warehouse facility initially. Starting with environmental soil removal at the new column footings, the project included the removal of multiple print mezzanines, building utility rooms and systems. Two ends of the building were also removed and rebuilt for loading docks and the earthwork required environmental subcontractor coordination to install a sub-slab soil treatment system.

The warehouse was ultimately leased by a confidential data center end user, and the building needed to transform yet again.  Our team converted the speculative warehouse into a functional data center which required significantly reworking the primary power system.
