PROJECT PROGRESS UPDATE

The Evolution of Partnerships: How Our Project is Shaping Jersey City’s Industrial Landscape

February 4, 2025

At RC Andersen, we pride ourselves in working with developers to understand their specific needs and determine which system is best suited for their project.

While the buildings we work on may have similar characteristics, every project represents unique challenges and requires critical thinking. For example, in several of our markets, we have the option to build with site-cast, tilt-up wall panels or precast concrete, which is cast offsite at a production facility.

We partnered again with repeat client, Brookfield Properties for the speculative facility Liberty Commerce Center in Jersey City, NJ. The project includes demolition of the existing building, installing CMCs for ground improvement, and working through an environmentally challenging sitework process. This project warranted tilt-up panel construction vs. precast concrete as the most efficient solution.

The 404,450 SF footprint will feature approximately 33,450 SF of two-floor office space and the project is seeking LEED® Certification.

Did you know? Tilt-up panels require less long-haul trucking and less storage both onsite and off. As tilt-up panels are available in more markets, they also allow for wider panels, reducing thermal and moisture intrusion in the joints. Precast panels can be cast in an indoor, controlled environment year-round, are more commonly internally insulated and can be more cost effective in expensive labor markets.
